Personality Portraits- what are they?

These are not your typical pre-school images. These are personality-filled portraits, where I spend roughly 5 minutes with each child, talking and joking with them and capturing them just as they are. I won’t force any smiles, rather focus on their unique authentic expressions.

My goal is for you to have naturally simple and stunning images of your child, delivering timeless memories of this absolutely adorable age.

How does it all work?

Step 1: Registration

Please register your child on the bottom of this page. No child will be photographed without this form being completed.

No pre-payment is required for this experience.

Step 2: Planning the day

All correspondence prior to the photo day will go through the Preschool, including the date that I will be on site.

Step 3: On the day

Jo will bring everything required. Images will be taken against a plain backdrop (as pictured on this webpage). No props will be used, but if a child has a comforter that would make them more relaxed in front of the camera, then that’s totally fine :)

Siblings will be photographed separately and together.

Jo will deliver a mix of horizontal/portrait orientation images, in a mix of colour and black & white edits.

Step 4: Delivery of images

Families will receive an email with a link to their personalised gallery within 2 weeks of the photo day. Families will have 2 weeks to place their orders from delivery of the galleries.

Digital and/or prints will be offered to purchase. Digital images will be delivered instantly. Prints will be delivered to the Preschool 2 weeks after gallery orders have closed.

 

Pricing

Pricing is going to be kept super simple. No keyrings or fridge magnets, just 3 package options.

1. Single high resolution digital file: $40

2. Full high resolution digital gallery: $95

3. 10 x 5x7 lustre prints: $55

 

FAQ

  1. What should my child wear?

This really isn’t too important as you can see that most images come in a tight crop. However, for those images that are shot in portrait orientation, be mindful that if there is a cartoon on their top, this might only show half of it. I want the focus to be on your child, so keeping their top half plain, is probably the best way forward.

2. Do I get to pick if the images come in colour or black and white?

I will deliver both for each image.

3. Do you retouch?

I will work with the Preschool to ensure that each child is given a quick wipe of the face before their sitting, but (in the spirit of authenticity) I do not retouch/smooth their skin. If your child has cuts/bruises/boogers that you do want removing, you can contact Jo after your gallery is delivered, and removal of unwanted details will be charged at $10 per image. Requests for retouching must be communicated to Jo within one week of receiving your gallery. Any later and this will incur a separate order of prints and the family will be charged the postage for these prints.
