When Sophie contacted me for a Family-Maternity photoshoot with her two girls and Cavoodle Tufi on a Bayside beach in Melbourne I was so excited! Combining all my favourite elements- family, maternity, a dog and a beach- I knew we’d have a fun evening. And we did! Sophie was pregnant with twins and wanted to capture photos of their family as a family of 4, before they become 6.

Well what a year 2020 has turned out to be! My little business had to temporarily close as Melbourne went into lockdown, and it actually inspired me to become even more creative with my indoor photography. I did more documenting of my family indoors, and then eventually as restrictions eased, I did some outdoor “driveway” photoshoots for families in Bayside Melbourne to capture how individual families are spending their time. It turned out to be the most fun experience, and I met the nicest people.

Just after lockdown restrictions were lifted, I got the opportunity to meeting little Emelyn at 2 weeks old, and her fur brother Leo the dog. Emelyn’s family live in Seaford, a little seaside town of Bayside, Melbourne and Mum and Dad were gifted this session which I think is the best baby gift ever (although I may be biased!!)
I always get extra excited when a family has a pet that they want to include. Do pets make photography easier- absolutely not! But they bring the photos to life in a way that shows a family’s true dynamic and everyday life.

This family are leaving Australia later in the year, so wanted to document a family maternity shoot, and then a newborn in-home photography shoot in their Brighton residence in South-East Melbourne.
We chose Beaumaris as the perfect spot for their maternity family photoshoot, and Melbourne certainly delivered with the weather.
Their daughter Bella has a great time collecting shells and getting wet at the end of the shoot! She is looking forward to showing me her Frozen doll house at their newborn photoshoot next month.
I absolutely love Phillip Island, and jumped at the chance to visit and photograph this gorgeous family over the Christmas break. Phillip Island has some beautiful coastline, and I found this beautiful spot with low rocks for the girls to explore.
